Synopsis:
Microsoft Word is one of the most commonly used word processors. From simple letters to classroom resources, Word has many functions that can help the user achieve a professional result. Without training, many people find Word frustrating because they are not familiar with all the functionality it contains. This course explores the basic functions necessary to produce professional documents for practitioner administration and lesson delivery (we will cover either Word 2003 or 2007 as required).

Practitioners who need to improve their basic Word skills to use it effectively, both for administration and as a teaching tool, will find this course a useful starting point.
Objectives:
▪To explore the potential of Word as a practitioner tool.
▪To use the basic functions of Word proficiently - screen layout, essential principles, viewing your
documents, efficient navigation, selecting, editing & enhancing text, tabs and tables, proofing tools, page
layout, inserting basic objects.
▪To compile (and share) a learning resource in Word using your newfound skills.
Duration:
Full day (can be tailored to a half-day / twilight session if required).
Facilities Required:
The presenter will require access to a PC with: digital projector and screen (preferably an
interactive whiteboard) and MS Word.
Each participant will require access to a computer and MS Word.
