Teaching and Learning Online
Examines the knowledge and skills required to manage and deliver learning online – comparing and contrasting with traditional methods. The module covers a number of learning models (including blended learning) and explores the possibilities of open and distance approaches. It links to the school learning platform strategy and includes an exploration of the free, open-source package, MOODLE.

The Interactive Whiteboard (IWB)
Equips you with the necessary skills and understanding to use IWBs effectively to enhance learning. Examines all the key issues required to get the most out of this versatile learning technology.

Other models of e-learning
Examines the ICT resources and pedagogical issues surrounding current models of e-learning. Relevant issues include: interactive whiteboards, hand-held technologies, e-assessment, the Internet, searching & learning, and podcasting/vidcasting.

ICT and the National Curriculum
Examines the statutory and non-statutory requirements and recommendations for using ICT in children's learning. Introduces the advisory bodies including: Becta, DfES and QCA (free when subscribed to any other course).


Using ICT to enhance English / Maths & Science / Across the curriculum
These three important courses develop the knowledge and skills required to employ a range of ICT resources to effectively enhance learning in the core subjects and across the curriculum in primary schools.

ICT resources
Explores 3 main issues:
1. What resources you need and where to find them.
2. Developing your own resources.
3. Open-source and other free software.

ICT and Special Educational Needs
Investigates strategies for using ICT to support learners with a wide range of learning needs including those with: physical disabilities, communication difficulties, speech and language difficulties, English as a second language, dyslexia, emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning difficulties, hearing impairment, visual impairment, and high ability (gifted and talented).

Managing ICT in Education
Promotes effective strategic planning, management, and leadership for those with responsibility for embedding ICT into the curriculum (e.g. SMT , curriculum leaders and the ICT Coordinator). It links to the Becta Self Review Framework and the ICT Mark.
